HARDWARE TESTING · REPORT A RESULT

Share a device result.

If your device didn’t work, describe what happened. Attachments are optional: a clear description is enough. If it did work, share that too—working reports help others know what’s been tested.

HELPFUL DIAGNOSTICS

Export these from the ASFW app.

After reproducing the issue, attach these reports when you can. Each is available in the app:

  1. 1394 Diagnostics → Save to .txt...
  2. DICE Report → Save to .txt... (DICE devices)
  3. AV/C Report (BeBoB, Oxford and other AV/C devices; available since v0.4.0-beta.1): turn speakers and headphones down, click Refresh (it reruns AV/C discovery on every device), then Save → Save JSON Dump…. The JSON dump keeps every command and answer; Save Text Report… or Copy Report gives a readable version if you prefer.
  4. System Logs → Export Logs
  5. Any driver crash report: /Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/net.mrmidi.ASFW.ASFWDriver-*.ips

The reports capture different views of the device and driver. Attach whichever apply below; no need to copy log text into your message. Please include the device name and firmware version, and whether attach, playback, recording, volume and mute worked (for AV/C devices). If a device freezes or stops answering, power-cycle it and tell us which step you were on: that is exactly what we need. If a DICE device streams but stays silent, say so too.

OPTIONAL ATTACHMENTS

Add diagnostic files if you have them.

Attach one or several reports or logs. Recognized ASFW reports get a brief summary here; every original file is sent as an attachment. Other files are attached as-is.

No files selected. Attachments are optional.

Your message goes to me@mrmidi.net. Attachments are sent only when you press Send report. Diagnostic files may contain private information.
